Visiting neighbouring countries is possible with Asco Car Hire vehicles. However, it must be arranged prior your departure.
Cross-border permit for Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland and Zimbabwe:
Euro 38.50 per vehicle (Multiple entry)
Cross-border permit when access to Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique is included:
Euro 165.00 per vehicle (Multiple entry)

Driving 7 days a week, our airport shuttle will take you from the International airport to the car hire in the city to pick up your vehicle. Alternatively the shuttle can take you to your accommodation within the city limits and pick you up again if you plan to collect up your vehicle at a later stage. Please inform us of your flight details at least 7 days before your travel so that shuttle driver can meet you at the airport.
The shuttle operates every day between 7.30 and 16.00, the first bus to the airport leaving at 7.30 and the last bus to the airport leaving at 16.00.
If you require transport outside these hours, please contact our offices well in time. The driver will wait at the airport for a maximum of 90 minutes after the flight has landed. If your checkout procedure is taking much longer, please try to notify our office.
We provide a 24-hour breakdown and assistance service for all vehicles. If your vehicle breaks down, Asco Car Hire will help you within a maximum of 24 hours, either directly or by contacting a local workshop.

Please note the following restrictions in specific areas and related liability of the Renter:
• Dune Driving and driving to Sandwich Harbour: This is strictly prohibited. If any damages, breakdowns, or repairs occur, you will be responsible for all associated costs.
• Botswana National Parks and surrounding areas (such as Chobe NP, Moremi NP, Central Kalahari NP, Kgaligadi NP, Nxai Pan NP, Madgadikdagi NP, Khutse GR, etc.): You may enter these areas at your own risk, as we can only provide backup support through third parties. You will be responsible for all costs resulting from damages, breakdowns, transfers, or repairs.
• Kaokoland and Damaraland: Offroad tracks and Van Zyl's Pass, including official gravel roads D3707 and D3703: The renter will be responsible for all costs (tow-in costs, repairs, and vehicle exchange costs) resulting from any damages, including undercarriage damages, damages or breakdowns caused by heavy vibrations due to the poor condition of the roads/tracks, or damages and breakdowns caused by collisions with large stones or crevices, associated with driving in these areas, even if the super cover is chosen.
Please note that these conditions apply only to the breakdown service in the mentioned areas and not to the insurance cover. All vehicles still have traffic insurance cover.
